Inter-House debate Competition
Inter-house debate competitions are an excellent platform for students to showcase their critical thinking, public speaking, and analytical skills. Such competitions are not only important for a student’s academic growth but also play a significant role in their personal development. On 11th July 2023, Convent of Jesus and Mary High School conducted an Inter House debate competition on the topic “Does technology make us all alone?”
Each house was represented by four participants, who had to present their arguments in front of a panel of judges. The participants were evaluated based on their content, delivery, and overall performance.
After a rigorous selection process, the top two houses advanced to the final round of the competition. The final round was a much-anticipated event. The finalists presented their arguments in front of a larger audience, including students and teachers. The atmosphere was electric, and the participants remained composed and delivered their arguments with confidence.
The final round was a closely contested affair, but in the end, the Bl. Dina Belanger House emerged as the winners. The judges were impressed with their well-structured arguments, supported by relevant evidence and delivered with conviction. The runners-up, St. Claudine Thevenet House, also put up an excellent performance and were commended by the judges. Overall, the competition was a resounding success and all the participants were praised for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the art of debating.
