Republic Day Celebration
The Convent of Jesus and Mary celebrated the 75th Republic Day with great
patriotism and zeal on 26th Jan 2024. The entire school premise was decorated
with pictures commemorating our national heroes and the values stated in the
constitution of our country. Commander Sravan Kumar Khuntia, the chief guest
unfurled the National Flag that was accompanied by the vending of the National
Anthem. The students of the four houses-juniors and seniors marched in the
house uniforms rhythmically to the patriotic tunes played by the band. The
program began with the prayer service followed by patriotic songs melodiously
sung by the students of class VIII. Students danced to the tunes of patriotic
songs, enacted skits and even wore tri coloured clothes to mark the occasion.
The chief guest in his speech highlighted the significance of the day and made
the children aware of their rights and duties. He even motivated children to
study well and inculcate good values in life. This was followed by a thought
provoking and encouraging speech by Sr. Sheron Pereira.
The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity and
brotherhood. The day was celebrated with zeal and spirit befitting the occasion
in a real sense.
