A short session was conducted for teachers on 3rd September 2025 by Ms. Jeannette De Vella.
In an inspiring and heartfelt address to educators, Jeanette spoke powerfully on the theme “We Are Pilgrims of Hope”. Drawing from her own reflections and the deeper meaning of vocation, Jeanette reminded teachers of the profound role they play in shaping lives — not just through academics, but through presence, purpose, and love.
At the heart of her message was the idea that life is a journey — a pilgrimage — and along the way, we are called to discover the treasures hidden in ordinary moments. These treasures are not material, but spiritual: moments of growth, connection, kindness, and gratitude. Jeanette encouraged the teachers to live their purpose with intentionality and to give thanks for the lives they touch and the lessons they help others learn.
To conclude her reflection, Jeanette pointed to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, as a model for all pilgrims of hope — especially teachers. Mary’s quiet strength, her faithful yes to God’s call, and her enduring presence in moments of joy and sorrow, all serve as a guiding image for those who teach with love.
Just like Mary, educators are invited to trust, to nurture, and to stand beside others through their trials and triumphs. Jeanette encouraged the teachers to draw inspiration from Mary’s example — to say “yes” each day to the vocation of teaching with humility, courage, and deep hope.
