15th August is an important event and a country wide festival for each and every Indian because it reminds the sacrifices of those who gave up their lives for the freedom of India. Convent Jesus and Mary High School celebrated the country’s 77th Independence day on 14th August 2023 with great pomp and show.
The students of std 5th & 6th celebrated the day with great vigour and a sense of respect towards the country. The traditional auspicious lighting of the lamp was done by the Supervisor Ms. Lorina Fernandes. The program started with a prayer service. A series of eye-catching performances was presented by the students, beginning with a group song and a powerful speech. Skit and group dances were also performed. The students and teachers were left with the thought to hold hands and lead on.
