Sr. Vidya Pathare, a Religious of Jesus and Mary, conducted an informative session for teachers on the POSH Act, 2013 and the POCSO Act, 2012 on 12th February 2026 in the school hall. Sister explained that sexual harassment at the workplace is a serious criminal offence and discussed the various forms women may face, including physical, verbal, and non-verbal harassment. She highlighted the key aspects of the POSH Act—prevention, prohibition, and redressal—and explained the formation and functions of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).
Speaking about the POCSO Act, 2012, she emphasized the protection of children below 18 years from sexual offences, harassment, and pornography. Sr. Vidya urged teachers to remain vigilant, observe behavioural changes in children, speak to them if they appear disturbed, and create a safe environment for them to share their concerns.
She concluded by encouraging everyone to stay alert, raise their voice against injustice, and work together to ensure a safe and respectful environment for women and children.
