Inter House English Debate Competition (4th July 2024)
In a display of eloquence and intellect, Class IX and X students of Convent of Jesus and Mary were engaged in an exhilarating Inter-Class English Debate Competition on Thursday 4th July 2024 in the school hall.. The event showcased the students’ oratory skills and their ability to articulate their thoughts on the thought-provoking topic “Should the Government regulate the use of AI?
After a fierce competition, the results were in, and The Blessed Dina Belanger house, the Red house emerged as the victor, securing the first position. The participants’ insightful arguments and eloquent delivery captivated both the judges and the audience alike.
The runners up position was claimed by St. Francis Xavier’s house, the Blue house, who presented their arguments with finesse and poise, impressing the judges and their peers.
Two speakers from each house were presented with the best speaker certificate for demonstrating a keen under well-structured argument and confident stage presence.
The event not only highlighted the students’ public speaking abilities but also fostered a healthy spirit of competition among them. The judging panel consisted of the English department teachers who praised the students for their preparation, logical reasoning, and delivery skills.
